And, no, this isn't a mommy blog.
I'm just complaining.
There's nothing inherently wrong with mommy bloggers—in fact, there's a lot of them I really like, and a few of them I not-so-secretly wish I could switch lives with (ahem, Julia Berolzheimer), but this site isn't only about toddler hacks or recipes or staycation itineraries.
It's about the hard stuff, too—like navigating raising a child on your own while also growing a business and, well, existing (because, let's be real, that shit's hard in and of itself).
Suburban Toddler Mom, Freelance Copywriter, Marketing Mentor, and, lately... not much else.
While of course I have a few hobbies (scrolling, thrifting, avoiding responsibilities...), none of them feel like enough.
Last time I felt this way was back in 2015, when I spent my days scanning hundred-year-old wills and trusts from the crusty vault at the law firm I was working at. I'd finish all of my tasks for the day within the first half of my shift—shoutout ADHD!—then hit a wall in the afternoon, leaving me completely bored, with nothing to do but stare at the screen, unsupervised for hours on end.
I had the bright idea to start a personal blog, called Journey of Sara Joelle, and it filled my void until my (now recovering) perfectionist self got too discouraged by my lack of immediate fame from it, and tossed that hobby aside as quickly as I'd started it. (I take back that ADHD shoutout.)
In traditional Sara fashion, I got right to it as soon as I had the thought, without leaving a single second to second-guess.
After all, writing *is* the my longest-standing hobby, and, thankfully, one of my greatest passions, so why not?
All I needed was a gorgeous Tonic template, a couple hours of free time to whip up some copy, and a little bit more motivation than last time, & my blog would be up and running.
I hope you'll follow along as I write about FINDING MYSELF AND navigating my mid-twenties in search of more.
